DAMN YOU ROB!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU! :mrgreen: And I mean that with love.

so I made the mistake of reading Rob's amazing tutorial on RPG layout design. Now before I go on please note I am using Microsoft's works word possessor to build my game "FEAST OF GOBLINS" which can not due separate page layouts (aka I can't say, this page is 1 column and this is a two columns). So I'm trying to make it work, and in order to get things to look as rob as suggested, I have to make ALL 1 column article in the book (cover(s), tables, table of content, etc.) in ms-paint then import them and align them as needed.

*cries*

Insert -> Floating Break

At least I think that's what it is called.

At each floating break you can change the layout of the page.

This is from memory, mind you, I've been using Linux for two years now. It's actually harder on a Linux system since the only way to change page layout is using the page styles so I can't change layout mid-page like I can with MSWord.

*oops - my bad. Just noticed you are using MSWorks not MSWord. Hopefully it'll work also.

Personally I'm using Open Office and it seems to be doing the trick overall. And it'll work on any system within reason.

to be honest I've tried Openoffice and I just don't like it. had a better time with works is that isn't scary. to be honest my method is working. mostly it was a backhanded compliment to Rob. the How-to was so go I had to mess up my progress to get my project to comply

haha that was basically my reaction. I read it, screamed "DAMN YOU ROB" starting fixing my problems then posted this thread. I think that the true compliment to your article! If a game writer can read it, smack him/her self for their mistakes, and then damn you for all the work ahead.....it shows it does its job well. Hell I KNOW my game will be (and look) better for it. I just did want to have to back up to fix it. On a side note, If using works to make a game, text first then do layout. the Pic's don't move with the text....arg!!
