I've been spending every spare moment playing WoW online. Rusty and I are both closing in on lvl 50 and then its only 10 more levels to the cap. Jer and his bro are close behind entering the mid 40's. The general opinion on the WoW forums are that Paladins rule all, rogues are cheap, and warriors are gimped.

Outside of that I just began building my new PC. I purchased the new Asus SLI mobo and 2 gigs of quality ram. Actually, the cost of the ram alone being nearly $500 stung a bit on my budget, so I have to wait until the end of the month to order the CPU and graphics card(s).

The problem is that Keet had Real Life (tm) get in the way. He is the very lifeblood of this site and was the real motivator to getting new people to drop by...

We need to guilt him into joining us again.

Did you trademark your Real Life comment? Welcome back Chris!

I know I haven't been posting much lately, but I certainly wouldn't say the site is dead. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact! The forum hasn't been getting as much attention as I'd like, but we do regularly get new members and still have enough posts to keep it active. In particular, the 24 hour RPG guys have been pretty good about bringing their discussions to the 24 hour rpg section of the forum.

The bottom line is that if you guys want people to post to the site, you'll have to encourage them to do so. With new members coming in daily, it's up to you to spark interesting threads, contests, play by post games, etc. (I know for a fact that people are checking the play by post section daily to see if new games have been started.). Don't be afraid to engage someone new that you've never talked to before and say hello. Ask them why they are here and what they're into. Also, someone please talk to Penbot before I make him a moderator!

Again, if you think more traffic is what this forum needs, I charge you as founding members of 1km1kt to go out and find it! If you find an RPG related page you think we should be affiliated with, ask them to link to us. We'll be happy to add them to our page as well. Same goes for RPG discussion groups like or forums like . If you want them to come here, go get involved with their project and use the resources of our site (things like the forum, our daily traffic, our free rpgs, free hosting of their files, etc.) to get them to start posting here.

That rant aside, the real success of 1km1kt has been on its front page and RPG page. We're listing high enough in some of the major search engines to warrant hundreds of unique visitors to the site everyday!

I know it's difficult to see because I took the page view counters down (it was poorly written code and was responsible for almost getting us kicked off of our hosting provider), but any RPG we publish is getting viewed by dozens if not hundreds of fans. I really feel like we're doing a service to the RPG community with this site. :D

Since I'm on a roll here's some more general info:

A lot of you have noticed some changes in the forum lately so here's the skinny on the status of the site. Our biggest news is that 1km1kt has warranted a move to our own dedicated server. It's been a pretty big chore, but I think the results are worth it. In addition to learning a lot about Apache, linux, postfix, and all the crap that keeps this place humming, we're getting faster page loads and have total control over everything that happens with the site. Maybe not a big deal to the average viewer, but certainly worthwhile for us.

After that comes the new forum design. I thought it time that our site match our forum. Please let me know what you think.

That's all for now. Here are some links to give you an idea of how far we've come and what we can do with this site with just a little effort.

RPG.net currently is giving advert. space away for free. It is something we should look into- if nothing else to simply get our banner to flash on their advert space once in a while.

Here is the info:

Thanks for the update Keet. It is really good to hear a lot of people are coming to the site- if not posting.
