Game Chef is a marvellous competition where you try and write a roleplaying game given the ingredients from the Master Chef. Well, its back:

For you Competition hungry designers, this is definitely one to get involved in! Although they are their own entity, I can wholeheartedly and fully recommend and support Game Chef because it's brilliant.

Get stuck in Monkeys!

Rosh HaShanah lasts from sundown September eighth to sundown on the tenth. Yom Kippur begins sunset Friday the seventeenth and runs all of the next day.

Jewish holidays are based on a lunar calendar, and have a tendency to fall on different days each year according to the Gregorian one. I'm sure the planners of the contest meant no disrespect, and were simply unaware. In fact, I find this rather comical - it would have been difficult for this contest to bracket the high holy days any better if they tried.

I might make a 24 hour attempt at the contest, or an informal entry after its done.

Good luck to those who do participate in the contest. May everyone have a sweet new year of 5770, and an easy Fast.

I'll be making my annual contest entry into Game Chef...I never do any well, but it's always a fun experience.

Thanks for the link - sounds like lots of fun.

Now I just need to figure out how to include the acronym 'TBA' into a game. :)

Game Chef has always been fun for me in the past. I certainly learned a few tricks through it and learned to take some risks with my designs. The contest has been known to produce a few wrecks, too, including the most incomplete game I've ever seen, beating even 24hr rpgs. I'm not sure it was an attempt to make a game at all.

This year, however, I'm not planning on entering. After experiencing the longer Cyberpunk Revival Project contest, I'm not sure I want to go back to 10-day contests. I'll see if something inspires when the ingredients are announced, but instead I'll likely continue refining Metropole Luxury Coffin.

I wish you all luck.

I wish I could participate, but I'm going to be really busy in the next months :(
Good luck to anyone who enters!

So after my aborted (but soon to be resurrected) Cyberpunk Revival Project game I'm back and ready to do something.

Actually I was going to work on Multiplicity and then Fred kicked me and the butt and said do Game Chef, so I am. I even started my own thread and everything.

So wish I had time to join this one, especially after seeing the ingrediants.

Lots of stuff (including my tax return) have caught up with me this month.
Why does all the cool stuff come at once?
