If you've done 3D CGI work, especially humanoid figures, you might be aware of the excellent modelling package Daz Studio. Or you might know about the 3D landscape generator Bryce, also produced by Daz (after being purchased by them a few versions ago).
For a limited time, DAZ are making all of their core modelling programs freely available.
Head over, see some of the amazing stuff you can do with their software.

Yay free stuff! I'm downloading now. Let's see if I ever learn to use it.

Looks cool, I like the interface on Hexagon though I haven't used the other stuff much yet.

I've been using these programs for years, they seem to be pretty intuitive to use compared to a lot of the other 3D programs on the market, but that might just be something to0 do with the fact that I've been using them so long.
There are also a decent number of fans sites around, and repositories of free 3D models and figure accessories for these programs. So if you're having trouble building what you need for 3D scenes or can't fathom how to create clothing and costumes for figures, you'll find some decent free stuff if you're willing to do a bit of searching (and you'll find some truly amazing stuff if you're willing to shell out a bit).
