Situation #1
Someone brings an attractive friend to a game who happens to be the gender of your preference. During the game you learn they are funny, interesting and love RPGs. You also learn that this person is available. Give us your best RPG related pick up line.

Situation #2
In an alternate reality you haven't met your spouse yet but then, someone brings an attractive friend to a game who happens to be your spouse in an alternate reality (this one). Anyway, you're pretty sure your spouse will be pretty mad at you if you don't give this alternate reality spouse your best pick up line.*

I'll be answering situation 2. Um, it's not very good, but . . .

I'll have a think about that. Meanwhile, 's Howard Wolowitz from The Big Bang Theory getting slightly the wrong idea about what kind of roleplaying is on offer.

I don't think pickup lines are working. They are just embarresing. So the most likely answer would be to ask her afer the game if she likes to meet sometime not roleplaying related.

If I have to invent a pickup line: "You are cheating. I can't find that lovespell anywhere on your character sheet."

I remember devising in-game pickup lines for some generic fantasy stuff. We had PCs walking up to the hot bartender with stupid phrases like "hey, baby, what's your mental saving roll?". Also, an armor-clad knight telling everyone "hey, baby, I fot protection".

As for real life pickup lines, Anastylos has it right: pickup lines aren't really working... Also, girls who game usually hate fellow gamers hitting on them. So the best thing you can do is pursue her outside the gaming session. NOT STALK HER. So probably the best pickup line is not "can you hold my dice bag" (duhh), but rather "wanna go to AnimeCon with me?"...

Yes, I don't do pickup lines either, this is just for silly fun. If anything it'll prove how silly pick up lines are.

If I've learned anything from video games, it is that you need to do an arbitrary number of quests for the woman first, before you can unlock the more advanced dialog trees!

But in all seriousness, there is no one thing to say, nor one way to act. Believing that anything works like the "kindness coins" of games and that they owe you for giving them complements or do tasks is outright creepy.

Simply be polite, on your best behavior, and helpful. Build a rapport and and maintain a sense of reciprocity.

I like to imagine that I would just insult the woman into dating me. They would be so in awe of my rudeness that they would not know how to say no.

I don't have one. It's not that the situation hasn't arisen. It has, numerous times. I just end up changing the subject in my mind before it's ever brought up in conversation. I'm not an outgoing person by nature, I just pretend to be because that's the role I'm playing.
