Would anyone object if I produced a new version of Metropole Luxury Coffin (MLC), and tried to sell it via a fundraising site?
Yes, the rules would change, but not a lot. I'm planning on inserting a bluffing/gambling mechanic instead of the current method of using cards. This would highlight the connection between cards and money, even if the gambling isn't to win money.
The setting would have to change a little, but the overall theme of the game, zany adventures in a disastrously named coffin hotel, would remain.
There's a chance that I might not do this. Another person suggested a space opera game with a big story, but that's sort of the opposite of the rest of my game designs, which focus on the everyday lives of regular people. He also mentioned that it's better to go with something you're comfortable with, rather than risk a totally new idea. Thus, MLC.
