If it could be structured properly, it would be nice to have a computer handle rules and just present the players with options. This is what Chris Armstrong is doing with .

The problem with media is that it needs to be produced (generated) by someone for something. It's the for something that makes this hard. Because the media is made for a specific game/movie/story it's really hard to re-use. It's like using free art for an RPG. Even if you can find something that shows what you want, the style is often jarringly different I point to the Awesome System books as an example.

So you're going to have to produce media for that specific game, ok that's doable, but requires a large time investment. The bigger name game companies could do it but strangely enough don't. I've often wondered why that is.

Music is one place where using what's readily available can work well. What else could you do with music?

Recorded voice would be easy to do, but why would you? The GM can just say what the voice is supposed to.

3D Maps that the players can move around, zoom in on and explore (like a google map for your game) would be really useful.

We had an idea with a friend to use randomly select movies from IMDB and use the result to generate "story seeds" or narrative turning points. The same can be used with wikipedia's , etc., but probably the signal-to-noise ratio tends towards "noise".
