The YouTube Rulebook

Before I buy a PC game, LEGO, drone parts, or anything... I watch YouTube videos about it. If I want to learn a skill, be it taking up old floorboards, fixing my drone or playing a PC game then I watch YouTube videos about it. YouTube Let's Play videos for tabletop games are good fun too.

Do you know of any pencil and paper RPGs that have a YouTube video for a rulebook? I'm sort of tempted to make one once Icar v5 is done. It would be fun. I can use my posh British wife to do the voiceover.

There are plenty of tutorials and teaching videos for various systems. Most are fan-made, some are released by companies/publishers/creators (although I'm surprised that this second group is not so numerous). A Youtube-only rulebook would definitely be something new! And perhaps even useful: it's the 2010s version of your mates teaching you a new game ;)

Yes, please, one vote for posh voiceover!

You know, ES, I did a silly thing there. I posted this thread having not googled it first. What a twit. I'll give it some time and report back.

Defo using the posh wife for a voice over.

I have it as a thing to do. My big project right now is getting the Icar space combat to a point I can play test it. I have most of the system down; I'm currently working on example narrative hooks - because the narrative in Icar space combat is as important as the shooting. Also, spacecraft don't go bang like in Star [Trek/Wars], they just become gradually less useful then less inhabitable.

So, that's taking up all my time right now. I have it as a thing to do and I'm good at keeping track - I kind of have to be with a baby in the house.

I've decided that I should go through the effort of making a series of tutorials for Hammercalled.

I don't know if this counts as a "YouTube Rulebook", but it's a start.

I started gearing up to break into youtube but I chickened out. I haven't really figured out how to present myself on video.
