Camelot Hymn

Howdie,

after a long break I tried to compose an orchestral piece. I wrote this hymn inspired by that great legend of King Arthur, his Knights of the Round Table, Camelot, Merlin and all that stuff... I tried to capture all of it - especially his castle Camelot. The hymn has the instrumentation of the late romantic era (plus the pan flute), but has a medieval (sometimes even archaic) touch to it. I even wrote the excuse of lyrics for a potential, still not existing choral movement. I would be glad to hear your opinion. :-)

I quite like that. Would make a good theme music for a similarly themed computer game; or opening credits for a series. 8-)

Hi there,

I spend a lot of time on that one here, writing let alone recording (via Cubase and EWQLSO). What do you think of it? I am especially concerned with the mixing.

Musically, I am really into that classic big screen Hollywood sh** . So this could be an overture to a (unfortunately!) non-existent Errol-Flynnish adventure movie, kind of a finger exercise to exhaust my orchestral synthesizers, since I stuffed practically everything into it... Gong, Harp, Glockenspiel, even an female choir in the grand finale! Ok, on top of that there could also be an sustained organ chord concluding the piece. Must admit, I forgot that one. Anyway, I know it's over the top and the brass sound sucks, but you know that? F*** it, I had a hell of fun writing this! And I hope you'll enjoy it, too :-)

Best regards

Dustin
