TROLL-BLADE 2nd edition

Y'know, I was happy to have TROLL-BLADE as a "1 page character sheet with full rules game". It was a challange to get it to fit and it really, really tried to present a full, fantasy RPG in as few words as possible.

But as soon as it went up I wanted more.

Some additional races for a start. Some PC classes as well. A load of magic wouldn't hurt either. And an ability to adapt material from any of the FRPG stuff that's readily available to all, so you could, for example, pick up an issue of Dungeon, convert a scenario in an hour and then off to the gaming table.

So I set to work. It took a bit longer than I thought it would. And I got distracted enough to design another 1-page RPG-FREYO, in a single day no less! but it got finished and here it is.

To be honest I think TB2 has legs as both a system and a campaign, and I'm just a little proud of it.

Please feel free to add an comments or criticisms regarding TB2 and fill me in on any gameplay that happens.

Cheers.

Title changes, perhaps?

First off, Troll Blade 2 looks fantastic and I look forward to reading it further now that I've downloaded it.
I can't help but wonder, though, if there should be more differention between the titles Troll Blade1 and Troll Blade 2. I would suggest renaming the 1st one to Troll Blade One Page or Troll Blade Lite, and make the second one just be Troll Blade. That or keep the first one you made as Troll Blade, and this latest on as Troll Blade Deluxe or Troll Blade Advanced.
Beyond that, I need to delve further into the game before giving any more feedback.

Love the 1000 Kingdoms idea, plan to play tonight.

Was there meant to be an equipment list ?

Hey Sean

I'm chuffed you like some of my ideas. I'd love to hear any feedback regarding gameplay, as i'm constantly tinkering with rulings and how they're phrased in my games. Hope you have a great session(s).

It's quite deliberate that there's no equipment list. If you think an item's available and affordable, let ém have it. and don't be afraid to rule that a piece of equipment weighs MORE than one "item" if you feel it would be bulky or especially heavy.

Man, I really want to play this.

So far, here are my (mostly useless) comments:

"I think that humans should have their own language."

"There should be haggling rules as opposed to semi-concrete price rules."

"I really wish I had six sets of polyhedral dice."

Actually, about the haggling rules; they're probably in there somewhere. I just can't remember reading them.

I know what I want for my birthday now.

Six sets of polyhedral dice.

I'm not new to the hobby, I just don't have six d20s and I want to be able to say to a player;
"Okay, the angry orc pushes you off the cliff. Roll for falling damage."
And then hand them six twenty sided dice and enjoy the "Damn, I'm Going To Have To Roll Up A New Character Now" look that'll spread across their face.

In other words, I want to own a lot of d20s for the same reason some people like owning one hundred sided dice.
