Ah, Chainsaw, an excellent point. I don't think I planned any of it. Initially, I split all the books up to make it easier for me to update things without everyone having to download the whole thing every time but with broadband nearly universal I'm putting them all back into a single book!

I think it might also be worth mentioning that most of the fun I have with Icar is the actual act of creation. Even when I get Icar Version 4 finished, I'll still find something to tinker with.

Are you the same?

Most certainly Mr. Lang. As one of my professors explained, "a good writer knows book is never done, but a great writer knows where to stop." I'm merely good.

It tends to fall in on us from two directions. Either we have grandiose plans from the beginning, and want to show them to their fullest - or else we begin so simply its easy to tack on more and more.

Reading this post has forced me to reread my entire rulebook and then update most of it. I'm glad I did - The new version should hopefully be up soonish and it looks waaayyyy better than before.

Thanks very much for the advice in this thread :)
