Why do I want to play this so much?

I had a perfect Shadowrun game lined up last fall, about Halloween time, involving a haunted carnival, the Critters guide (evil me, putting cyberbears in a Halloween game), and I was planning on involving cosmic horrors. I couldn't even get my *brother* to roll up a character. Even when I told him he could have a Zeppelin if he really wanted it.

The first scenario would then lead into standard Aztechnology stuff, followed up by a battle with all sorts of nasty elementals and spirits, and the ultimate conclusion that a Great Dragon was responsible for it all.

Oookay, so it may not have been high literature, but I knew my audience (and they would've followed my "kill-em-all" path too, I'm pretty sure) and it went entirely to waste.

That's an awesome campaign. We only played EBSIS once and it ended in a PC getting carelessly killed (mine) it didn't go over well and we dropped it. I don't remember why, but my character had been captured by (?) in a regular old van. To stop the bad guys another player lit up the van with his SMG. It destroyed the van and everyone inside.

Anyway we did play Robotech a lot. Our main campaign started out in Macross. We had two Veritech pilots and my Destroid pilot that ran around in Gladiators and Mac IIs. We started off in South America repelling Zendradi if I'm remembering correctly. At one point we got the Invid Invasion book and the GM wanted to move to that but we didn't want to drop our characters who were 5th level at that point. So one day we were sent to take a crashed Zendradi cruiser and someone activated the fold system (on the surface). We found ourselves out in space near the moon if I remember correctly. I remember the reveal was pretty dramatic that we had actually skipped into the future because of the fold. We found a way to get back down to the surface in our protoculture guzzling mechs and drew every Invid in the area. We had to stow our Macross era mechs and find new ones. I think we had cyclones (man I really can't remember the details of this :-x )We became freedom fighters in Australia and rode out the years blasting Invid. I think my char was eventually retired at 12th level. We talked about them moving into a Rifts game, and we may have actually done it but I don't remember that being long lived because I GMed Rifts.
