Santa Claus-trophobia, things for a christmessy rpg session?

Hi all,

I intend, my players be willing, to play a game of the wonderfully charming rpg Claustrophobia by Rodney Sloan. At Christmas time we always have a few (a lot!) of gnome/Santa figureens standing about and therefore I see it as a perfect time to try the game out.

Now to the challenge of creating an "adventure" for the little buggers. I intend so start them out as being porcelain gnomes inside a Christmas decorated home but the rest is as of yet unset.

Hand me all your naughty and nice obstacles you can think of! The more "christmessy" (pun intended) the better!

Best holiday wishes,
Lejonel

So are we talking about drowning in the dreaded quick-nog? Sugar plum faeries tied to the model train tracks?

Or would this be more like Dad is a cheapskate who brought out the razor sharp 1960's aluminum Christmas tree, complete with a color projector whose cord is so frayed its throwing off sparks like a Tesla coil?

How big are these figurines? Would a credenza populated by Amish Centipedes () be an interesting location, or do we need to think bigger and more aggressive? (Or just wanting hugs - - it is a holiday after all.)

this brings up one of my fav tricks to pull on a group, finite infinity or to putting simply...a room with door to "other places". the kintch door can lead to a land (or simple a Larger then it should be) of firy pits and smoke fill areas populated but fat caniblisic child things. The room under the stairs to a bleak dark cavern fill with shadowy "creatures". are the gnomes the keys? the creators watching is still glee? or something much more sinister?

theres and Idea for you ;)

I was thinking in the lines of "regular things made dangerous" so the quick-nog, monstrous pets, falling mistletoe, aggressive nut-crackers are things I would like to include. Maybe making the main quest object to be scaling the Christmas tree to place the star at the top for some gnome specific reason.

It could be interesting to describe every room of the house as a seemingly unscalable obstacle in itself. Getting down stairs for example, should be quite difficult when the figureens only stand 5 to 20 cm tall.

Funny comic by the way! I got stuck reading it instead of doing the dishes... oh well. Dishes can wait. ;-)
