The setting of your game reminded me of Fahrenheit 451 & Michael Ende's "The Neverending Story"!
I like how you connected roleplaying with a macrocosmic, historical scale. But I also feel (sort of a first impression) that the game is somewhat "fragmented"... lots of different elements are mixed together (cards, counters, descriptions), each phase accentuates different things, and sometimes the transition between the different media is not clear. I'm sure this can be smoothened by creating a gameplay overview (e.g. in table form, with columns like PHASE | GOAL | "INGREDIENTS" etc...)
