anyone else here played/loved TSR's now defuncted "Alternity" I would love to get a group of fans together to get enough money to buy the licence just to make it free on PDF. (ok I want to own a company and use it as our own....but free to all is just as good if not better) its a dream!

Nice dream.
I like the settings from Alternity (Gamma World and Tangents rock!), but I really never liked the system, to much math for me.

I thought it was just a step die system, plus a d20 roll.
Savage Worlds uses a step die plus a d6.
It's not really all that special.

its not quite a step die system... the d20 is the main die....all others are just modifcations.....
