This is a piece of fluff from an upcoming Cyberpunk project that I've been working on. Tell me what you guys think!

It's cool, plenty of flavour but it isn't making me excited because it is pretty stock. What is it that will make your CP different? The floating islands sound cool, how do they stand up?

Now I am excited!
The themes and particularly the phrase "scratching at the sky" is very evocative. I want to see more. Keep focussing on the things that are unique to your setting.

I like evocative one-paragraph decriptions like the ones from the first excerpt. And on the second excerpt... I want to play the heck out of that setting!
But still, what's so exciting about Underground? You haven't convinced me yet.

Sorry about not posting here for so long! Life got in the way and all that.
@Maledictus- Within the next couple of days I hope to post the third Excerpt, which should peak your interest in the Underground. Please keep an eye out for it!
@Rob and anyone else who may be lurking- Stay tuned for Excerpt #3!

Alright, here's Excerpt #3! Instead of linking you, this time I'll post the Excerpt directly to this thread.
Punk Culture, AKA Party 'Til You Drop
Underground Punk culture is all about “peaking,” which roughly means making yourself as happy as possible regardless of the consequences. Drugs, music, raves, gunfights, burglary, they are all considered peaking if you enjoy it so much you can’t stop. The Punks are always looking to get up, get higher, get pumped up, and go crazy.
The Underground has formed itself around this culture. Anyone who goes into the Underground is asking for a wild ride, and choosing to live there is a death sentence. Even so, the Punks manage to keep on kicking, despite it’s dangerous nature. The cops and Cadenzas fear the Underground, and do everything they can to keep it from spilling over into the surface. The normies usually feel the same way, but sometimes an unhealthy curiosity takes hold, and that’s how a normie becomes a Punk. That is, if they don't succumb to the torture parties, lethal drugs, and cybercop raids first.
Now, you may ask, why hasn’t a culture like that destroyed itself yet? Well, it basically has. The Underground is suffering now more than ever in the face of starvation, disease and crime. It is for this reason the Punks look to the sky, the highest peak of them all. Most of the Punks still spend at least half their time partying and committing crimes, but at least now some of their effort is directed toward progress; Upward progress.
