In the near future, on the western coast city of New Metropolis, an evil that has lain dormant for centuries is about to be awakened to the 21st century. Forces of darkness and magic strive to unleash a horror upon the Earth unlike any mankind can remember. The only forces capable of stopping it are rendered impotent by an age-old fear and hatred. Will humanity set aside their differences and stand as one against the darkness? Or will this be humanity's Final Twilight?
Neo Productions Unlimited proudly announced Monday the release of their first major launch, the urban fantasy trading card game Final Twilight! The game, which is very character and story oriented, crosses several gaming genres with appeal to almost any gamer.
Each deck is constructed around a central character or "Major Character Card". These determine the abilities of the character as well as their initial life and resource totals. Other "Minor Characters" range from mythical and dark creatures such as Vampires and Undead to common or modern people such as a Street Chemist or Police Officers. Spells and Relics unleash mystic forces upon this modern world in which players duel for their own beliefs. The game seeks to strike a balance between role playing and card gaming, offering character oriented play with the speed and ease of card gaming.
Final Twilight - Trinity Preview, as this inital set is entitled, is Neo's first major launch since its formation in the spring of 2000. It includes three preconstructed decks based on each of the three major characters featured in Trinity and a total of 50 cards. It is to be followed later this fall with Trinity - Premiere, a 120 card set completing the story began in Preview. Neo Productions also intends to release future expansions, building on themes and characters introduced in this first set as well as adding to the world.
Each of the three decks contain everything a single player needs: 54 gaming cards, 1 six sided die and a rulebooklet. The game is intended for two players and those who are either older and more mature or those experianced with card games. The decks retail for $7.95 and are available through the Final Twilight website and soon to be available through select gaming and hobby stores.
