Hello, I just thought I'd offer up some access to two free to use fantasy roleplaying games.
They have two different scopes. The first is "Adventure Party!" which is a "Party Game" style RPG. Its a good intro RPG as it handles standard fairytale and pulp adventure, its got solid mechanical choices built in (there isn't just one way to handle things) and can be learned, played (including character creation and building an adventure) in an hour. Its under 20 pages in pdf format.
The Second is Piecemeal, which is a more indepth roleplaying game called piecemeal. Its a fantasy heartbreaker with a list of nice features, designed for transplant to other systems.
A nicer "hit point" system (luck points and body points)
A system for heroic actions (re-rolls and selected rolls, see fate and destiny)
New character creation methods that make character creation a fun first session in its own right (See Schrodinger's Character).
Non-vancian wizard magic.
A vastly different priestly magic system.
Improved social conflict resolution (as strategic as physical combat)
A simplified, but also far more versatile class system (See "Pie Pieces")
A combat system which is familiar to standard gamers but where you are always involved and don't simply wander away until its your turn again.
A simple, rational and easy to use encumbrance system.
The ability for limited player narrative control, without "breaking the game"
It also features alot of artwork, some humourous easter eggs and the like. The rules are available in a windows based viewing program, which you launch as an .exe, an emulator may be needed for other systems.
Both games are available at zzarchov.bravehost.com , suggestions, improvements, questions and all kinds of comments are desired. You can also follow my blog as I expand up and explain the rationale behind various rules at zzarchov.blogspot.com
EDIT!
Games are now also hosted at "Pen and Paper Games" in their "Indy Developer" section.
