Want to win cash for your game idea?
Posted: Wed Oct 07, 2009 7:59 amI'm excited to announce the start of the GrassRoots Gamer Contest Series! Here's the deal:
1. Every month or so, I'll announce a theme at http://www.grassrootsgamer.com and open the floor for submissions.
2. Post your game idea there.
3. Once your idea is posted, you'll see a link at the bottom allowing you to nominate it for any of the contests which are currently running. Click that.
4. After a couple of weeks, the voting period will start. Anyone with a membership may vote.
5. After a couple of weeks of voting, the submitter of the game with the most votes will be declared the winner, and I'll send them a $25(US) VISA Gift Card. US Funds are what I have, but if you live in another country we'll make sure it works there.
Now that the ground rules are out of the way, here are the specifics for this month:
Theme: "MiniGames"! We have to start small, and here's something pretty much EVERYONE has made at some point. Added a stock market to a real-estate game? Couldn't live without modernizing your favorite wartime-negotiation game? Maybe some RPG elements in Chess or Checkers? Let's see what people have tried!
Schedule: For this first go around, nominations will be accepted until 9:00pm (Eastern Time) on October 21 2009. Then voting will run until 9:00pm (Eastern Time) on November 4.
It's just that simple! And remember, ANYONE with a membership can vote, so once your entry is in, drag your friends over! It costs them nothing, and you just may profit! If you have any questions, please ask (admin@grassrootsgamer.com)!
