This list has been too quiet of late, and I admit my share of the guilt. In an attempt to remedy the situation I hereby propose a challenge for the last quarter of 2008. Gentlemen (and ladies; I know we have a few), I present to you the 2008 24-hour Supplement Challenge!
The task is simple -- far simpler, in fact, than writing a role-playing game in 24 hours. A 24-hour supplement is a sourcebook, worldbook or scenario written in support of an existing 24-hour rpg (i.e. Mind Over Alma Mater book for Wandering Monsters High School). Sounds pretty simple, neh? Well, it is, so there is a catch. In addition to the normal rules governing a 24-hour rpg challenge you must write your 24-hour supplement for a game that you did not write. Frex, I myself could write a supplement for any 24-hour rpg with the exceptions of Alien Angels, Immaculate and Master of Orion. And of course you must give full credit to the original author.
Now, what do you get for participating in this challenge? Right now I can promise nothing but bragging rights. A cash prize is probably more than we can manage, but perhaps some of us can put up some services to add to the winning entry or entries. Artists among us might offer illustrations. Those of the literary persuasion can offer to write flavor text/fiction intros. Feel free to present other ideas, I can only have so many.
Awright, that's enough from me. Those who want in, sound off on-list!
