Well, Keeton just let me know my entry got posted, so here goes:

I'll start a thread up in case anyone's interested in talking about it. :) All in all, it was a really cool experience writing this and I'm amazed at what's been created in such a short time by the other entrants. I'm also indescribably jealous of certain people's visual artistic talents. Mine are non-existent. :)

Anyway, thanks to Rob and Keeton for running the contest!

I would really have had a look at what an attempt of RP-Wargame would be like, but Google Docs gives me a "document is not available" reply, Kumakami. Is there any other way to grab it?

Tadk! Great to see you having a go, sir. Glad to see you're having a go at Fantasypunk. I can say with some pride I think it was one of my suggestions. ;)

Good luck, old chap!

Dear 1KM1KT,

What a fantastic site and group of people! I commend you all and humbly join your ranks.

I am a published writer, and writing guide, and I've been working on an rpg system since I was 14. Every time I've played it the rules have changed, and because of this I have never created a coherent document that presents the rules. Perfectionism perfectly sabotages learning from failure. Procrastination makes it an inside job. I've been round the houses a million times considering both how to finish and how to approach publishing, and after reading all 17 pages of this thread, and many of the games in their entirety (just to name two, Verge was an impressive first up, and Joe In Ten Persons is incredibly original) I have decided to present my system here in 24 hours. In terms of the contest I accept that this is cheating, in that I have done years of boiling down and playtesting and correcting and adjusting ... as such I withdraw it from the competition ... yet still I wish to attempt to present it here to fufill the contest's underlying heart of hope ... that of encouraging people just like me to finish what has for so long been left unfinished.

The bonus prize would be to then apply my system to at least one of the other ideas, and present that as a separate game.

Basically I'm following the d20 open gaming license model here in micro, presenting the core system, and then applying it to at least one other different approach from the list of topics, and in that 24 hour period I shall follow the contest rules to the letter. The only part of my work here that will have undergone prior creative work is my original system and core game (and yet, even here I will be typing up everything from scratch due to my OCD habit of changing it every time I've played it). The applications as separate games will all be done in the 24 hour periods.

1st 24: Life Dreams ~ Narrative Alchemy (c/o The Inside Of My Head) [as in Getting It Out!]

2nd 24: Reality Exiles (c/o Disinherit The Wind)

If time permits ... these are the other ideas that are calling strong.

3rd 24: Novel Sinners (c/o Oblivion Folder) ...
4th 24: For The Love Of Ms. Espresso (c/o Mr Toaster Needs A Soul) ...
5th 24: Two Worlds ~ One Window ~ Fourth Wall (c/o B-Movie Oblivion) ...

These are the ideas that call the strongest. This is both my leap out of isolation and my leap into participation. When I actually engage with first 24 hours (checking diary it looks like Thursday am to Friday am will be my run time) I will post here to share the adventure.

All the best to all of you!

Waaaaaaahooooooooo!

My goodness, I think we've got a madman onboard! :D

Welcome, David, you're in good company - other nutters. Please feel free to start as many threads as you need for each of your different projects.
