The year is 1684
The world is in turmoil
The Christians fight amongst each other
The English are between civil wars
The Spanish king is insane and epileptic
The Spanish are at war with everyone
and...

THE FRENCH INVADE TEXAS

Yes, another entry on the French in Texas theme,
but this time based in historical fact!
Believe it or not, or just google
and wikipedia for Robert de La Salle.

And since I started the day before yesterday,
it's already finished!

In 36 or so hours...

But just for the heck I uploaded both the 24 hour status
and the 36 hour finished 72 page booklet.

It includes a setting, a full campaign, source material,
a simple system, a list of contents, front, back, public domain art,
and Keeton.

Enjoy!

creator of the Dark Dungeon 2nd edition game

And wow, is this some kind of challenge in concentrating and working
efficiently, especially if you also have the duty to take care of your 3-
and 6-year old, cook, and run the house.:p

Jaap! It's superb to have you onboard! I really, really enjoyed reading and Dark Dungeon. A great game, congratulations.

Also, congratulations on completing the challenge. It IS difficult and I am glad you have managed to find the time amongst all the other things you have to do!

Did you see my message on your forums?

Welcome to 1KM1KT. :)

Very interesting. I applaud the idea of shooting for some historical accuracy, and that you already made an upgraded version. We don't have any statistics for how many people go on to re-write their 24 hour games, but I imagine the number isn't very large. Certainly, the follow up time isn't quite so fast as yours. (I've got some old contest games I want to revise from years ago.)

Nicely done, and I hope to read it soon.

An updated and revamped version of "The French Invade Texas" is now available, 80 pages, more historically valid characters, more pics, more examples, at: http://www.darkdungeon.ws.

Where you can also find the revamped version of Santiago Joe, and of course Dark Dungeon 2nd Ed. ;-)

Greets to all, Jaap de Goede
