24 Hour Compo Judging Discussion

This thread is to let the judges be unleashed from their silence! For too long I've told them to keep schtum. Now we can all talk about our favourites. It's important to note that we don't all agree on everything but that's ok!

I am going to be putting up a big post on with my thoughts and feelings and will then be reviewing a whole load of the games in my usual manner. Not to steal any of my own thunder, you'll have to wait until Tuesday for that! :)

I'd link to take this opportunity to thank Chainsaw Aardvark and Kumakami for judging this contest. It took a lot more work than I had imagined as the quality (and number) of the entries was so staggeringly large. Many thanks chaps.

A very fine choice for a winner.
Would have been my choice too.

Many congratulations to M. S. Jackson, well deserved sir.

Do we get to know what the top three shortlisted were that you mentioned?

Thank you to everyone. I said it elsewhere, but I will say it again. I am floored that I won. Some of the other games were very very impressive imo, and I honestly figured my silly little game about evil teddy bears was just a little quip that everyone would forget after reading it. It was my first attempt at the contest that I had been swearing for years I would take a stab at merely completing it, much less winning...so I am still just taking in the fact that the teddy bears came through for me. Surely this is the work of the evil Doctor Keeton and some nefarious plan to get the teddies back under his control!

I wrote up a long post over at my blog about how I did the entry and how it all came about, figured someone might be interested in the behind the scenes thought process on how it came to life:
