Thoughts on PDFs

I wish I would have thought of this already.

Basically, the full version of Adobe Acrobat has a feature called "PDF Optimizer" that makes larger PDFs smaller. My original PDF was 1.8 megs- I was able to make a "compressed" PDF in OS X that came out to 1.6 megs. Today, I ran it through Acrobat's PDF optimizer and got a 375kb file.

So, if anyone doesn't have access to the full version, drop me a line and I'll help you out.

Andy, I'd like to update the file on 1KM1KT with this optimized one to save yall bandwidth- I haven't altered the content a whit (though I sorely wish I had included the URL), so I'm not trying to upset the judging. Is that cool? How do I do this?

Finally, I've been continuing working on my game (as many others, I'm sure!), and plan to relase a version 1.1 once the judging has closed.

Hey man, that PDF Optimizer sounds like the bomb. I'll have to look into that.

Actually, as files go, the judges have the files and replacing one on that side would just gum up the works.

However, it's totally cool to change your file on the 1KM1KT site. Just go to the "Conatct" page of , I think there's an email address there for Keeton Harrington (the admin of this site, all around nice guy, and daddy for less than a week)- Throw the new copy to him and he'll replace it. He's done so already for multiple entries.

And damn, keep up the work on this- I want everyone to remember that some of the guys last year went on to publish their game (or are in process of doing so), even though they didn't win the actual Iron Game Chef award. Keep it up!
