The Incredible Ninja Drinking Game - rule questions

Hi, JJ, I have a question about your cool roledrinking game:
pg. 5: "If the defence card is a different colour to the attack card then the attack is deflected onto another ninja (card players choice but not
the attacker)"
Do you mean it's the choice of the player deflecting, the one who played the second card, as oppose the player who attacked him?
Say the Stealthy Ninja of the Wolf Clan attacks the Short Ninja of the Blind Eel with the Fu-Cha (5 of spades) technique; now the Short Ninja plays Sui-Retsu (8 of hearts). So if I understand correctly it is the Short Ninja who chooses which other Ninja to attack with the Sui-Retsu, right?

Also, it seems the only way to lose is to draw a king and play it, or have it, last. Is that what you meant?

Hi itaigrief,

Thanks for your interest in the game!

You've got it right, in your example it would be Short Ninja who decides who to attack with the Sui-Retsu, Fu-Cha chain (but he couldn't target Stealthy Wolf Ninja).

Yes, the only way to lose is to play the last king or be holding it when the game ends. This idea is borrowed from the popular card based drinking game known as Ring of Fire or King's Cup.

Hope this helps
JJ

Oh, I think I missed that: you mean if the attack is deflected the second Ninja has to contend with the entire chain? Bummer.

So it seems the game hangs on the kings - why shouldn't I just play the king as soon as I get it?
