Okay, um, Mark? What the fuck?

I feel dirty after reading this. This isn't a game, this is a business proposal.

REVIEWER NAME: Joshua BishopRoby

1) CREATIVE AND EFFECTIVE INCORPORATION OF RULES (1-10): 3
Feedback: Team, yes. Law, not really. Actor, hardly at all. The "time constraint" has the players doing more in the intervening two weeks than in the two six-hour sessions.

2) CLARITY (1-10): 7
Feedback: Written decently well, and certainly gets its point across. Repeatedly.

3) COMPLETENESS (1-10): 1
Feedback: The complete lack of any game mechanics whatsoever did not impress me.

4) ESTIMATED EFFECTIVENESS IN PLAY (1-10): 1
Feedback: You cannot play this. You might be able to sort of use this as a guideline for setting up your own e-business, but... that's not really the same thing, is it?

5) SWING VOTE (1-10): 1
Final Feedback: I am seriously annoyed that I read this entire document.

TOTAL SCORE (add items 1 through 5, above): 13

I did say I wouldn't post any of my reviews. But for comparison...

1) Creative and effective incorporation of rules (1-10): 4
Feedback: There's some use of Team, and an interesting interpretation of the "two weeks" criterion, but Actor and Law are weak.

2) Clarity (1-10): 1
Feedback: If this game were to progress any further, it would need to be drastically edited. It's hard to make any sense of it at all. I gather that this game is meant in a light-hearted way, and it's possible the over-wordy style is part of the joke.

3) Completeness (1-10): 3
Feedback: There isn't really a game here, as such: the idea of the game is that the players go away and make money in the real world. As far it goes, then, the game is ready to play, but it hasn't really been thought through as a game.

4) Estimated Effectiveness in Play (1-10): 1
Feedback: This really isn't a roleplaying game and I'm sure the author knows it.

5) Swing Vote (1-10): 1
Feedback: I think this is meant as a joke entry. The risk of doing a joke entry, though, is that people don't get the joke. I'm really not getting it at all.

Mark, what's the thinking behind this game?

Brave New Economy

REVIEWER NAME: Joe J Prince

1) CREATIVE AND EFFECTIVE INCORPORATION OF RULES (1-10): 6
Feedback: Actor and Law are weak. Time is used in an insane way, but it’s a good kind of insanity!

2) CLARITY (1-10): 6
Feedback: No page numbers! A complex idea but it does make sense if you persevere.

3) COMPLETENESS (1-10): 8
Feedback: Could do with more examples but very good.

4) ESTIMATED EFFECTIVENESS IN PLAY (1-10): 4
Feedback: For me, it’s not really a rpg. Not enough immersion.

5) SWING VOTE (1-10) : 10
Final Feedback: Pure liquid genius! Everyone should play this!

TOTAL SCORE (add items 1 through 5, above): 34

...I seem to be alone on this one...I liked it though Mark!

Cheers
Joe

I'm not convinced that it's enough of a roleplaying game, but I liked it in its quirkly glory. Of course, I'm a permanent resident in dual realms of the buzzward economy.
