The Top Eight for 2006: Here They Are!

So, here's how this works: From now and for the next week and a half, go ahead and read the entries here (there are probably some you all haven't read yet). PLEASE JOIN THE GAME CHEF YAHOOGROUP, because the final voting mechanism isn't ready yet, but will be soon, and I'll announce it there.

Basically, what will happen is sometime soon I'll announce a location of a voting mechanism. You'll read the top eight entries and vote for your Two Favorites. The most voted entry "Wins". It's that simple. The voting portal will be ready in a few days. Once it's ready, voting will last until MAY 1st. Then the votes will be tallied and a winner announced.

Congratulations to EVERYONE. It was a close range of scores, with a huge bell curve of entries that everyone liked. As I mentioned on the Yahoogroups list, I will be compiling all the feedback and sending it out in a huge document to EVERYONE, but it will take a few weeks to put together (perhaps after the contest altogether), but I promise you that you will get all the feedback sent in regarding your entry!

The Top Eight Are (in no particular order):

Time Traitor by Brian Hollenbeck
Liquid Crystal by Ashok Desai
Three Dooms by Mike Sands
Decade by Jessica Hammer
The Glass Bead Game by Dan Ravipinto
Crime and Punishment by Moyra Turkington
The Opposite of People by Joe Murphy
Merryweather by Kevin Allen

If you're not listed here, that's no excuse to give up! If you've been following the previous Game Chef events for the past few years, you'll note that some of the games finished and published to critical acclaim never even placed in the contest! So this is your opportunity to continue to seek and give feedback, polish up your game, and turn it into something fun and playable!
