I have submitted a few games to the 24 Hour Challenge but I have never done anything with Game Chef. I just submitted my name for membership in the yahoo group. The website makes me think that the last competition was back in March... has there been no other challenges since then? How many times per year is a Game Chef challenge generally issued? I'd really like to join in the fun.
Game Chef is a once-a-year thing, and for the last two years it's been in the late spring/early summer. So, I wouldn't expect too much activity until then on either the forums or the mailing list.

Unofficially, though, there's going to be a mini-competition at the end of October. It's going to be called "Baby Game Chef", and there's not going to be as much involvement from all sides, peer review, judging et all as normal; but the ingredients and theme are going to be VERY easy, so it's for the folks that wanted to try the Game Chef thing but were thrown off by the "hippie-ness" of it all (or wracked their brains for answers, etc).
Email me a little closer to game time and I'll send out an announcement on the email list.
Hey - I got a sponsorship request from these . They wanted to do something at the beginning of October and had some money for prizes and possibly some publishing/publicity opportunities.
The main theme would have to be "climate changes" (they're an educational media company). They're a bunch of RPG'rs and are looking to give back to the hobby. What do you think of hosting the October baby-GameChef at 1km1kt and asking them to sponsor it?
