My one action is to pad the bar with a flat palm and demand another drink!

With hazy slowness, pull out my billfold to settle the tab.

A gin soaked hand turns the knob on the front door pulling in open, but that is not what pulls your attention. Instead the drunken man's VERY coherent cry of "what in the world is that!" pulls you vision to the front of the pub. A Cloud, half Mushroom and half Harlequin mask, rises in the distance. Just as your wits process the ramifications, A blast like no other rocks the Pub. The world seems to bend and flex as all color seems to invert. You loss your grip on the waking world and drop to the ground. The clock says 12:00 when you awake, yet it is still dark. Only the 2 of you are in the pub, and the world seems eerily silent.........

Dry swallow a stress pill before the realization sinks in, then check the other patron for any serious looking injuries with key-chain led light. Make a mental note we're going to need to raid a pharmacy warehouse for a truckload of barbiturates if I plan on avoiding a stress induced heart-attack. Provided the other people are alright, pull out my address book and try to focus on writing a list of what I have in my pockets to both calm down and have an inventory of our meager supplies.

Bertie wakes and peels glass and a beer mat from his face. He gets to his feet and wavers back and forth before righting and chair and slipping into it. He straightens his bow tie. His face a neutral mask of shock.

"Did I get my drink?" he said.

Sorry for the late reply! I'm back online regularly again. :)
If the barman is not about, I'll go and get some water - smelling it before drinking any. Bertie will make sure he is ok before checking out the others.

Bertie walks around the bar to get a drink....surprisingly everything works as though nothing has happen. The only disconcerting to the bar is a inverse shadow.... a spot upon the floor in the a human like shape, it is much lighter in color then the surrounding area.

Tony finishes his list, stress backing down to a light throb at the edges of his mind. The moment of clarity and calm is short lived as he picks up a low sound at, barely perceptible yet still there. Before he can queston his sanity Bertie, with glass in hand, turns and look around as the sound seems to be in his ears as well........

"You there!" says Bertie to the other man in the room. "You there! What is going on out there?"

"I don't really know...I've seen pictures of something like that um shadow on the floor in a book. About the aftermath of Hiroshima. I, I certainly hope that's heh, not the case - but that um odd cloud from before everything went black would seem well to corroborate that assessment. My penlight still works, so either the um EMP missed us, or we in the best damn bar in, um ... Anyhow. (Extends a hand) The name's Tony by the way. Its probably best if we stick together for now."

"Bertie." he says and shakes his hand.

"Now, I'm no survival expert but I do know that food and water are required for life! The water here tastes ok, so perhaps we should stay here? Do you think it's safe? I am assuming that it was a nuclear weapon we've survived?"
