[welcome MisterEcho... what does your character look like?]

Bertie halts in his tracks and looks around at the new chap.

"I will. If currency still means anything I doubt anything means anything anymore. I don't know if you're been in the toilet for the last 20 minutes but it seems as if the world has just ended."

[you're in now - sucked in, there's no turning back!]

Bertie grumbles and reaches into his pocket, slamming the coin contents of his pockets onto the bar. Some rattle flat, others roll off the side onto the floor.

"We need to get out of here. Tam, I'm not from around here, do you know of any government or police headquarters we could get to?"

I'd hardly say that is necessary! If anything, we should be helping the police. There are usually quite clear directives for dealing with emergencies, its when people feel they know better and go anarchist that problems arise. Just read The Postman by David Brin - recovery was going fine until domestic militias started stealing supplies and cutting communication...

Oh right, communication - do you have a radio or something here? If there is any sort of emergency broadcast, we better listen. Its far better to stay in one place than go walking through a fallout plume, so at the very least, a weather report might be nice.

[By the way, what country/city are we in anyway? I'd imagine if this is an English Pub in the UK a stockpile of firearms would be highly illegal, as opposed to a North American bar where it would merely be worrisome...]

"Freak? Oh, I'm fine thank you." Gets up and walks over to a stool, gently plopping down he sighs deeply, "Oh sweet mercy"

"I'll have one of those drinks, thank you Bertie." Sips quietly from one of the glasses.
