Drakeknight mentioned being up for some play by post for SPF. I think having a place to drop characters in would be a good idea so this thread should work.

Give your character a name and a gender.

List your events, other than the name of each event you don't have to list the skills or attributes for each one as they should stay the same. Mark core events with '-core'. You can use ones off the wiki if you desire, if you want to make your own events, PM me or throw it up on the wiki.

List your attributes and their values
Story:
Intelligence:
Will:
Honor:
Agility:
Perception:
Strength:
Charm:

List your Personal Code items.

List your skills. You don't have to list methods and tricks in the skills unless you want to use it as a reference.

List any special equipment you want from your core events.

List two Story Seeds.

Hey, Drakeknight I sent you a PM (just trying to keep the thread here relatively clean). Edward should have 21 more SP left. PCs start with 40, you've used 9 (Street Urchin 1, Circus Life 2, Stage Acting 6), and you've listed his story as 10. Either his story is actually 31 (and he's 12 years old) or you've got 21 more SP to buy Events with.

This is a good learning experience for the game if you let me know what made that confusing to you I can try and fix it.

Ah, I think I see where I went wrong. I was under the impression that SP could be used to buy attribute points directly. I don't think the rulebook was at fault on that one, I've just been spending too much time lately pouring over different RPG systems. Shall revise post-haste.

Still it's a good hole to plug by specifically stating that the attributes aren't purchased directly. Learning learning learning.

I'm afraid of your comedy story seed, I could do it in person, I'm not so sure of my comic sense in writing. Still I'll give it a try. It's a good one to practice anyway.

Edward Paddington (v2.0) - Male

Street Urchin - Core
Circus Life - Core
Stage Acting - Core
Servant (Stagehand/PA type person)
Renown
Gentleman (I'd rather not have to stick exactly to the flavour on this one for character reasons. It's cool if my character just began acting like a gentleman recently rather than being born into nobility, right?)

Story: 17
Intelligence: 1
Will: 2
Honor: 1
Agility: 5
Perception: 4
Strength: 1
Charm: 6

Personal Code: Never Hit A Lady

Skills: Thief, Begging, Foraging, Knife, Animal Handling, Acrobatics, Acting, Etiquette, Dance

Equipment: Bowie Knife (From Street Urchin), Cape (From Circus Life), 50 Carte-de-visite (Req. from Stage Acting), Make-Up (From Stage Acting, if the required equipment doesn't fill this slot)

Story Seeds: Swashbuckling, Comedy (By this I meant the term in more the Shakespearean sense, as in a light-hearted story, not necessarily humorous. But, you know, give the written comedy thing a try.)

I'm working on a character right now. He's going to be a very rich guy with no talents of his own, so he patronizes mad scientists and adventurers and lags along with them in exchange for his money. He's bored so he wants adventure. He's a good bloke, even though his presence sometimes is a drawback. This concept goes well with the Comedy-as-in-light-hearted seed as well.

I assumed you could buy Attributes directly with your mad Story points as well! In this case, my characters attributes won't go rocketing, as I picked mostly no-attrib-bonus Events.

Another question: I also assume you can freely add "just years" to your character's age? I mean, you have 15-year worth of events, and e.g. 10 years you "did nothing" or just nothing remarkable.

No problem with the age. David should have three more Intelligence (from good upbringing and educated) and one more Honor (from good upbringing). Not that they're terribly exciting skills but he also gets read and write (which can be useful if used creatively) and arithmetic (Mostly a helper skill).

I'm formulating a game that incorporates your story seeds. Oddly enough it's Swashbuckling that's giving me a had time but I think I have it with a loose interpretation of the term. I'll start a new thread with the actual game.
