I still think it's an awesome idea. My only reservation is that the end result would not be playable. One of the joys of writing a free RPG is the idea that someone, somewhere, might play it.
Nothing stopping us from turning the submissions into proper works post-competition. Or, perhaps we could have a two-tier competition: The first round yields the most playable winner, and the second round is where everyone that partook in the first round pairs off and tries to turn it into a full-fledged game. Or, the first round yields two most playable winners, and the second round is between only the 2 winners of the first round, in which they swap games and try to complete each other's projects.
Hehehe, I tend to get too complex, quite often actually. I boggle myself on a regular basis.
Say, should we bother laying down any further guidelines for this? It might be interesting to have our streams start from the same seed, like, you have to start your first page (after title etc) with the word "Eclipse" or "Promulgator" or "Grass" or something.
Oops! Sorry Rub, didn't realise you'd replied. I've been busy with my tax return of late, but will try get round to working on this soon. Waaaatch thiiiis spaaace!!!

This is how I tried to write my first 24 hour rpg, the end result is... well... crap . I think that after a complete rewrite from scratch my thing might be playable.
