Frankly, if it feels right to have the EV suits look like that, then that's great!
I imagine environment suits to come in two sorts: lycra-like body suits that are worn underneath clothes. A bit a like a very thin dry-suit. The over-clothes version would be like loose fitting "overalls" (are they called that in the USA? - like a mechanic would wear). Materials are very advanced and the only bulk you'd have would be a pair of generators (about the size of a coke can) and a couple of modules for recycling waste (that clamp straight on to the relevant parts - all very small).
Yep. Just like that but with booties and gloves. The wrists/ankles would self-seal with the rest of the suit. 90,000 years of technical advance needs to be shown somewhere!
I'm pretty sure mechanical counter-pressure suits (ie ). need to be skin tight to avoid edema and other health problems. However studies into "" - which in turn could make electrically activated liquid body armor - () would in turn allow a computer harden parts of the suit selectively to make sure it conforms.
Isn't it awesome to know we could have this stuff in less than twenty years? Though I might not be an early adopter of the implanted PDAs...
Games of imagination are never truly done. Yet tomorrow we shall start another one.
