Sounds cool Rob. Almost the opposite feel for the regular setting. I usually look at the regular game as the players are crazies in a sane world. Here the world is going mad (crazy unreasonable civilians and droids) and the players are responding sanely.

Thanks Emmett. Of course, when my player group gets hold of it, it will be crazies in a crazy world.

Hand weapons? Being bionic with power armour, if you hit something then you're going to be doing huge amounts of damage. If you're close enough to a Droid to hit it, you're probably doing it wrong!

But Rob, the fleet most not only be dealing with Droids and even if still all they do, those are things for Life Pods!!
when they take out your ships

beside don't the fleet do non-power armor operations?
and against pirate ships boarding actions.. a Boarding Axe/Maul/Tool like thisImage
so you can pop doors that well u want to be able to shut, shut off or turn on lines, rescuing hostages etc...

But sometimes you want something big, like a sledgehammer or a giant axe.

It reminds me of the other day when I was playing Cataclysm (the roguelike); being pretty strong meant that I could take down a wall with my augmented mutant fists, but the second I found a sledgehammer I was through every wall with a single hit.

Powered armor soldiers may want to do something to a spaceship like I did to residential buildings, and easiest way to punch through armor is to hit it with a giant chunk of metal. After all, if you're just trying to take down a ship quick turning it into Swiss cheese is a good way to get that done.

EDIT: Also, if you're swinging a 200 pound hammer you're going to have more range and a lot of hurt on the end of it.
