Database of technologies.

I have an idea that could be very awesome, especially if some web devs see it and decide to help. we build a wiki of technologies and how they interact. you as a Dm simply pick what tech you want to exist and it will spit out information for you (stats, types of weapons, situation, logs of previous adventures run in a smiler vain as yours). For example, you click Implants, open source, virtual world and quantum cryptographic breaking. These techs interact in interesting ways. You can, for example, easily break any cryptography unless you use a OTP. obviously you're going to store your OTP in your head so if you want to crack a computer more often then not it will be an inside somebodies head fight to get them to tell you (willingly) what there OTP is.

obviously there are many different ways tech can interact but if it's worth doing odds are good some will and then they'll write it up.

What you describe would, indeed, be incredible, but I see little chance of it actually materialising. In a less ambitious vein, what I find an endless supply of more down-to-earth cyberpunk gadgetry are modern espionage sources. Take a spy gadget (especially one imagined as futuristic ten or twenty years ago), run it through modern advances, and you'll have a nice piece of near-future gear. Say, a communicator/camera built into a wristwatch, that uses a solid-state memory card rather than microfilm. Such things are bound to be everywhere a couple of decades from now.

That sounds pretty close to Midian: Beyond. It's sort of a DIY sci-fi setting. You select the tech and other elements you want to include, and which you want to exclude. Technology will have precursor tech that needs to be developed first. For example, you need rocketry to get up into space before you worry about developing FTL.
