Hi everyone,

This is a quick update to let you know that I haven't abandoned this project. I've just recently handed in my PhD thesis, so have been more than a little pressed for time over the last few months--this should hopefully improve a bit.

In unrelated news, we have been approached by a game company that is interested in the publishing rights to Wayfarer's Song and Danse Macabre. It is all still early days, but it seems to be quite exciting. Wayfarer will get a system facelift and I'll be contributing a chunk of extra setting material to help differentiate a published book from the free pdfs.

The current Wayfarer PDFs will remain freely available via the Mythopoetic site, though we will likely pull the Danse pdfs off the Mythopoetic site as part of the contract.

Chris

Congratulations on finishing so much education - you'll be a doctor of what now?

Given how slow my work gets done without the distraction of intensive schooling, I'd say you're doing just fine.

A big fat post of great news! Getting your thesis in is a really big step. What have you got to do before graduation? Do you have a viva and corrections?

As for your RPGs, that's great news! Will you be still working on Spellwoven or are you going to hold back while you work on paid stuff?

As much as I love free RPGs, it's always a thrill to hear that a philanthropist is going to be published professionally. Well done!

Yes, it is quite exciting regarding Wayfarer and Danse, though at this stage it's all still early days. We'll see how it pans out.

The doctorate is in biological sciences, specifically, vertebrate physiological ecology--though that's a bit technical and won't mean much to most people I'm afraid.

I'm going to keep chipping away at Spellwoven too, though the rate of work is going to be slow. I'll probably use Spellwoven as something to work on as a break from other things. It's nice to have a project where it's all just free and open and there are no particular requirements to meet. Also, if Danse is pulled off the Mythopoetic site, I sort of feel obliged to put up some other substantial-ish rpg to make up for it.
