A competition to create an RPG using ingredients set by the master chef. Run by Jonathan Walton. Check out the blog for rules and information. Good luck!
I was inspired and a lot of the writing just flowed...at least for a few days. Then I had some interruptions at home, and I had trouble getting back into the flow, so I just took some photos and did some layout work until the writing muse struck again.
I had trouble getting the last bits of the text together and there were a few last minutes cuts from the text. I did a quick read-over in the hour or so before I submitted it...it looked alright, but I think there are a couple of errors.
For one, I wanted to delve a bit deeper into writing spirits and shadows for the game. And there are a few rules that I have as a standard part of FUBAR that don't appear in Walkabout...I don't know if the game is better or worse for their omission (rules like the preparation for a truly epic task).
Still, I don't think I could have done much better under the same circumstances if given the opportunity to do it over.
Now it's just a case of refining what I've laid out, improving based on feedback and playtesting, then exposing it to the public.
