So, in solidarity with other Jonathan's I'm going over all the Game Chef Games and giving them quick twitter reviews.

Thank you so much for the critique. I have read most of the games, but do not have time to write comments about them. I agree that I may have gotten too into the setting, but I kept fearing the players would feel lost in a detail-less setting. I am glad you enjoyed the trap mechanics. I wanted them to have a really 'gamey' feel while still leaving room for gamemaster customization. In some ways, I think my game was also heavily influenced by the latest Magic: the Gathering block, Zendikar, which focused a lot on traps and 'hedrons' that look strangely enough like eight-sided die. I didn't even pick up on that until after I submitted the game!
Also, where will Game Chef post the finalists when it is time? Do you think my game has a possibilty of making the cut at all?

Getting curious what reaction you will have to my attempt this year as well.
More power to you.
I personally really liked the groups format of 2 years ago. I felt a lot better about the whole event and it forced us to review at least our own groups.

Well, I didn't make it in to finals, but I still like my game! Seeing the other entries helped me get a better feel for it. Good luck to the rest of you guys!

http://gamishdesigner.blogspot.com/2010 ... oming.htmlOkay ... I'm ... 2/3 to 3/4 of the way there? The problem is that I've been putting off the big page counts ones until the end. I might pay for that.

Now I'm just waiting to see what my mini-review is...
Walkabout isn't that hard to critique...surely.
