Making use of the physical form by choosing skills

Everything is random and that is really cool but I would like the chance to make better use of my physical form by choosing just a couple of skills for my character on creation. At the moment, in the PBP, I have a cool character who's body allows some cool skill bonuses but I can't make use of them because my 'Job' doesn't include those skills.

I'd like to play out the game as in before tackling this, as the fact one can have loads of ablilty bonus that can be use to start is by design. You have to spand xp (once gained) to grab the exact skill or else prey..er pray you can roll them by chance.....

I've just hit an instance of this. I have a fighter-type character without the punch skill, even though my body is set up for it.

  • Arms - [4] Tentacles "Creepy" Strong: 2, +1 Reach, +1 Punch skill
  • Hands - [6] Crab Pincers "Killer" Grace: 1, +3 Punch damage

This means that doing cool stuff is quite difficult as it means your character must have randomly got a coherent set of attributes and skills. I like random but I think random such that it stops you doing cool stuff is annoying.

fair enough....side not...looking over my game I don't see where I put unarmed damage base.....hmm
