2011 "spade vs. indy"

Started working on it today...
Both flicks are known for their iconic lead character and the storylines are linked as well. Why not have Dr. Jones and Sam Spade racing for the Maltese Falcon? I decided to take the two heroes as archetypes, character concepts... a fantasy would have elfs’n’dwarves or a mage and a warrior – this game features a spade and an indy. I also decided to make this a game of deceit and backstabbing...
The mechanics will be card-based, it adds to the noir feel + I came up with a system that includes rigging tests -> great for backstabbing.
The words in bold are highlighted for a reason --- these elements will form the fundament of the game. Hopefully.

approx. 12:00 - researching while having breakfast. Found this game online: . Fortunately, it has nothing in common with my game, just the noir guy with the cards on the picture...
approx. 14:00 - started working. Trying to get the character generation and the system nailed first.
16:07 - creating this topic, haha... The card mechanics are more or less done, moving on to char.generation.
17:03 - wasted an hour listening to big band jazz & browsing fonts. Also, wrote two paragraphs of a short story that might serve as an introduction. Note to self: priorities are important.
18:34 - system ready, introduction part ready, short story ready. Moving to char.generation. I figure I'll write it then return to the system and fine-tune it.
20:02 - finished character generation and character sheet. Adding some new features to the system and clearing things up...
going to sleep. Will finish up tomorrow. Yay.
around 12:00 again - back to work... I'm slightly out of the 24h limit
