I posted in the original mashup thread when I started and finished this. The Droog Family Songbook is a mashup of A Clockwork Orange and The Sound of Music. Yeah, that's right. I had a blast writing this! You can get your copy here:

I would appreciate feedback and comments. I also ramble quite extensively about my goals for the game and creation process on my website. Happy for comments to that post to come here. Website is here:

Wow.

Just... Wow.

My obligatory bowler hat is off to you.

Were I given a vote, it would be for this one.

I have just put a post up over at encouraging people to participate in 24 hour RPG contests. You should go and leave comments there to reinforce my bold opinion.

Holy smoke!! I must get a bunch of friends together and try this game! Witty, inventive, well-made...
Right now I can't point out any shortcomings - the game is good as it is. The only thing that seemed problematic to me was the requirement for everybody to be in Spotlight three times --- I don't know how that translates to actual game time. I guess the duration of each turn is heavily dependant on the characters and the scene, but if we take 15 minutes / scene then with four player = 4 hours + some more time for resolution, which is ideal (in my opinion) for a one-session game.

Thanks for the positive comments! Be careful though, my ego easily inflates! Not having played the game (yet...) I would love if it took about 45 minutes per player. That, I think, is around the same length as Fiasco and Penny For My Thoughts.
I also have to say that putting the game together has literally made me ill! More than a week later, I still haven't caught up on the sleep and was almost immediately struck down by a nasty virus. I should have warned people about that in the article I wrote for the Stockade. Curse you, crazy game design challenges!

I interpreted the 24h limit more freely and divided it into two parts, with a sleep in-between... As you can see . I might have lost time, but otherwise I'd have fallen ill as well or something.

This is easily the most inventive and original entry yet! Mad props for the song mechanic (though good luck finding a group that is willing to do that), and I like the look of it, too. Waiting for those pages to load was a pain, but I chalk that up to my old computer. I can see this one playing better as a board game than an rpg, though.

Hi Tygertyger, it takes a little while to download on my computer, which is by no means old! :) I think, in the rush to get things done, I didn't reduce the size/quality of the background image enough.
I am interested in how you would see the game being converted to a board game. Do you mean the concept? Or do you see the mechanics as boardgame-like? I was (somewhere in the back of my mind) inspired by Zombie Cinema, which is a GM-less RPG that uses a board or "track" to determine who escapes the zombies, but I still consider it an RPG far more than a boardgame.

Cheers,
Nathan
