Are we playing in the Anadar cluster (given in the core rules) or will you be inventing a new cluster? I'll need to choose a system for Roger Ballentine to have lived on if so.

A new sector of my creation.

These are the places I've made up so far:

This sector is somewhat of a frontier region. It's possible that characters could have travelled from other sectors.

Still looking for players?
Going through the ICAR download now . . . thinking Ex-Con Space Jockey (Pilot)
- - - though it may take me a day or so to get the creation done . . .

Question to Rob . . .
Going through the book . . . is there such a thing as a Single Man fighter in ICAR?
Sort of works into the background of the character if there is, if not I'll work around it.

:)

J.K. - You're welcome to join in. :) It's up to MisterEcho if you can be an ex-fighter Jock. Although they are cool, you're going to be 1000 times harder than the rest of us. You might need to think up a reason why you're not so hot anymore. Amnesia? A mental illness? Psychological problems?

Might be better to play a weaker character with the rest of us. There are plenty of ideas in the Core Rules, page 104.

Use the Skeleton Below only if MisterEcho says yes!

There is a one-man fighter, a Stub Wing! Used only by the Fleet. Here's a draft skeleton for a fighter pilot. I've included two sets of skill starting "fresh out of fighter school" and "wizened old bastard" in curly braces.

Bionics
The flight bionics are tough but were really designed to have you become one with the machine. I'm not going to list all the systems because I've not fully worked out the stats just yet. These are to be going on with.

Meat and Shift augment your original attributes when you're doing tasks - your original attributes are where you get your skill values from.

I think I can fix the toughness problem . . . as in . . . the PC never got a chance to be one :)
I'll work on my concept using some of the outlined items WITHOUT the extra points.

Basic premise . . . he wishes to be one, wants to be one, but because of a "mistake" never
became one, so he's just an un-augmented guy who never got a chance to be what he wanted.

Just a thought . . .
there should be a basic Pilot Skeleton included in the Core Rules
. . . even if the guy is only good enough to run a Basic Hauler Flight :)

I love the fighter pilot! perhaps you're stuck on the Ittan-Lomand high hauling run after getting grounded by the Fleet. You've just been grounded again by the freight company. You keep failing the random substance abuse tests...

will anyone let you fly?

If ANYONE is wondering what Gun-Fu is like . . . here's a Movie Example . . .

or it's at least how I picture it . . . :)

Clip is from Equilibrium . . . pretty good move.

That is the origin of Gun Fu. :-) The Gun Kata in Equilibrium is awesome. Also there are bits in The Matrix where Neo and the others kick guns out of the hands of their foes.

Hi everyone, still open to new players? I used to play Icar with Rob a loooong time ago - our team is even , it feels like being part of a museum exhibit. Haven't done much gaming for a while, but I'd love to get back into it. If you do still want new people, please let me know what profiles would be ideal to complement the current team. I'm still going through the rulebook, but I'll be up to speed in no time.
