I really like the game system, and want to devise my own setting for it. The skill rules are unclear though. I have suggestion consistent with other rules in the game: at character creation, the number of skills you can select is equal to your Intelligence score divided by three and rounded up. Thus, a character with Int 10 has four skills. Another issue is the untrained use of a skill: what if I want to fire a gun/ pilot a starship, but have no training (do not have the skill in my list)? One possible rule to cover that would be to say that all difficulty modifers in that case go up one or two levels, at the GM's discretion. If firing in this situation would have been Average, it is now hard, because I don't know what I am doing. Flying a ship untained would likely be Difficult if not Impossible. Another area of confusion is improving skills at character creation. What about, instead of two points for every group, you got a set six points for all groups, but could not put more that two points into any ons skill. In the current system, if I have two points in the AG group, but no AG skills, those two points are wasted.

I'm liking this a lot... Can I ask, are all the skills listed under a stat 'known' to the character or only a selection? If the latter, how many skills should a character know?

Thanks

I've been made aware that I haven't included a character sheet - apologies for that. Anyone requiring one can email me or download one from the website: www.farsightgames.com
