Game Idea:

The Criminal Underground

A game in which players portray subterranean creatures engaged in contraband smuggling, kidnapping and other nefarious deeds outside the eyes of regular humans. When spotted by humans they lose any powers and revert to their natural animal state. A bit like a subversive version of "Mouse Guard".

I've read that they are endangered, because their fur is quite expensive. Judging by their size, you have to slay a few dozens to get a fur hat...

But the REAL reason people hunt them is that desmans aim for world domination via mind control, no less. The protective tinfoil hat is replaced by fur hats, of course, desmans can't control other desmans.
