Gen Con - Who's going, who's running?

Postby Corone » Thu Jun 25, 2009 8:51 am

Hiya

Thought I'd start the usual thread that appears around this time,
(although I'm a little early)
anyone else going to Gen-Con Indy this year and if so, are you running stuff?

I'm going over with Cubicle 7 (I run their Victoriana line)
so you'll find me at their stand most of the time.
But I'm also running a couple of games of my new game 'Hellcats and Hockeysticks'
Which is a sort of St Trinians RPG due out in December.

Hey Corone, I'd love to go to Gen Con Indy but sadly it's slightly out of my budget. Glad to hear you're in with C7, I've loved SLA and Victoriana for ages and ages. I've also known Angus for years now. Top chap!

Have you been before? What's it like?

Yay, glad to hear you're a Victoriana fan.
We've got a lot on the way for it and its shaping up really nicely.
I've known Angus for a long time now too, and he is indeed a very groovy guy,
and someone who seems to know everyone, everywhere! :-)
Very annoyingly he chats to people when you're at parties and when I get to ask who we were talking to it often turns out to be some demi-god of the industry!

I have been to Gen-Con a few times now,
as i have become hopelessly addicted to it.
I went several years ago as an attendee and the size of it was rather mind blowing.
Then when I started working with Cubicle 7 I went as part of the stand team.
Very different experience, but still just brilliant.
I'm addicted to it now as there are so many really cool people I've met there that I only get to see at the show.
So I'd miss them even more if I missed my only oppotunity each year to catch up.

It really is worth saving up for if you can make it to go just the once.
But once you've been you'll want to go again!
I did a couple of Con reports for the C7 website and my livejournal.
You can take a look at them from here:

Failing that, I'm off to Dragonmeet South west this sunday,
so if you are anywhere near Swindon, come along!
