I have come to love my digi-home known as 1km1kt. I have found my long lost gaming group I never had here...(mr. e, CA, and Rob) so now share your love of 1km1kt. tell us why you keep coming here.......
Time Fly's like an arrow! Fruit Fly's like a banana!
Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your game, And they're always glad you came; You want to be where you can see, mechanics are not the same; You want sto-ry where discussion flows not flame.
(Might help if you're familiar with the opening theme of an 80's sitcom called "Cheers"...)
Mostly because the discussion is interesting, and I feel I've accomplished something when I help another with a game. I'm quite proud that I've gained enough respect to be name checked in certain regards. We touch on interesting topics.
Of course free love for free games is another good reason.
Games of imagination are never truly done. Yet tomorrow we shall start another one.
I keep coming back because I'm banned everywhere else*.
I love it here because you get an excellent mix of randoms. You have new people who have never written a game *cough*misterecho*cough* and those that have been writing them for years. We all want to share, we all want help! Philanthropists are great. Like many hobbies, I think the RPG hobby can turn sour when money is involved. We don't see any of that here.
There's a lot of concentrated knowledge here, on a wide range of things which is very useful. The feedback is always thought through and constructive (people will actually tell you why your game idea sucks ).
Monkeys are funny, that's why I keep returning. Even if I don't post very often, I like to see what others are saying. People are friendly, always willling to give a kind advice or to take one.
I like the energy of hearing about projects and anticipating what comes from it.
This is a friendlier place than other boards about making games. I frequented others in the past and most of what people would say when you mention an idea is "that won't won't work". I think over here the attitude is "That's crazy, I don't know how you'll manage to do it but I want to see it when it's done." Which is encouraging or consoling dependent on if the project gets done or not.
I love the fact there there is a chap living somewhere in the USA who pays for all of this. He keeps the lights on. When we need something, he steps up. He quietly does it. He rarely complains (only when unfairly provoked too) and he's always there for us. He's like a big friendly dependable cuddly uncle. I love that. Some people call him Keeton. Flamyngo calls him "Do-The-Dishes" , we call him OUR GLORIOUS BENEFACTOR.
