Ok, I've finally started tinkering with my blog, which I actually registered about six months ago . Folks say Wordpress is a steep learning curve, but I reckon any blogsite would be, especially to a non-code monkey like me (one of the few on web forums it seems). So far I've put up a set of New Year rezzies and an interview with the owner and founder of UKRoleplayers.com. Much of it will seem pretty parochial to non-Brits, but I hope there's enough there of interest to a wider audience. I'm going to spend the next few weeks attempting to get to grips with the site, not least to find out how to put the categories on the home page ribbon. Demned technology. Hmph...
Meantime, Happy New Year y'all!!

Good start on the blog. It took me a few false starts to get one going.
Two quick recommendations: First, pretend you have an audience, and a demanding one at that. I find that a lot more of my posts are written with the mind set of "I must produce something for the people reading this, even if I'm feeling ill or uncreative today" than the pure joy of writing another 500 words about people that don't exist in an imaginary place. Eventually, you will have a real community handing on your posts and this will be self-fulfilling.
Secondly, hurry up and do two weeks of solid posting everyday. Nothing is sadder than an orphaned blog with no content other than two or three apologies for missing content (my first blog, for example). The solid group gives people an idea of your content, a good hook to new readers, and gets you on a roll. You can slow down after that, but try to get a few big ideas out there first.
Admittedly, I'm nowhere near the UK, but if you'd like a guest post or other content, I'll see what I can do.
Games of imagination are never truly done. Yet tomorrow we shall start another one.
Thanks for the encouragement. I will try to put out as much as I can as often as I can, but It's gradually dawning on me that I've made yet another rod for my own back, crissed-crossed as it already is with multiple scars from the existing ones .
I plan to offer my own original thoughts, ask questions and do a fair amount of re-blogging, so stand by for posts about racism at the gaming table, how to read playtest results, how to be a good roleplayer, and loads of other stuff...
