At the moment I've got an entire Matriska Doll of RPG stuff.

I've got a plastic string envelope that has some pocket-mods for "Wyred", cards I made for "Final Stand", business card sized character sheets for "Warrior, Rouge, and Mage" writing utensils (cheap mechanical pencils, eraser, pen), and some D6s.

Next I have a messenger bag to hold two or three binders with additional game print-outs (thank you college library for a chance to print many of the free games I've acquired!) lined paper, spiral notebooks (lined paper as well, but I hate tearing out pages.) and yet more dice. Sometimes my "Heroes of the Multiverse" card game goes in as well.

Finally, there is a large black gym-bag with more dice, two shoe-boxes full of cardboard terrain and Mecha miniatures, (I've fallen in love with "Armor Grid Mech Attack" from DTRPG) as well as binders and folders with character and control sheets and of course, yet more dice.

Electronic devices don't really factor into my collection - I'm over protective of them and don't want anything getting damaged in my bags. Most of my books are at home, though print-out filled binders take their place.
Games of imagination are never truly done. Yet tomorrow we shall start another one.

my new RPG blog.

I'm not very organized, so what I carry around is usually a very mixed bag (no pun intended). Right now I have a quite nice backpack which fits my biggish laptop computer (I don't like small sized keyboards and screens), a folder with various papers I carry around, it has dividers and plastic containers, useful stuff. Lots of pencils and pens scattered around the pockets of the bag - the only thing I'm anal about is ALWAYS throwing out pens that run out of ink on an instant!! There's nothing more of-putting than picking up a pen that doesn't write.

The most important thing I carry is a regular notebook (right now - a nice dark green one) for fixing ideas I come up with while on the way. I open it on one side for study-related notes, and on the other side for other ideas (RPGs, music, poetry, whatever). The flipside of the cover is used to notch down telephone numbers quickly.

As you can see, it's not an exact science... but it works for me, sort of.
An operating table is now an altar.

I wanted to take a picture of my game bag but I haven't gotten around to it and it doesn't look like I'm going to.

I carry a duffel bag with 2 copies of The Artifact, 1 copy of the players handbook, 4 copies of scout maps, and a printed copy of the random encounter tables.

It also contains a binder that I keep experimental game stuff in, active characters that are not in their own binders and extra character sheets.

My wife has a 1 inch binder for her characters and notes and one other player keeps her characters in a binder. They both go in the bag.

I used to keep my macbook air in the bag when it's game night so I can pull up pdfs and reference the interwebs when needed but I'm moving toward just using my ipad.

There are three dice bags, one is mine and two more are other players.

There's also a Winnie the Pooh pencil bag for pens and pencils because no one ever has pencils!

It's a heavy bag to lug about but we like to keep all the game stuff together because in the past, someone would forget something important and we'd have to scrub game night or drive 30 miles to another house to get things.

The one thing that's not in my bag is the Deceased File. All dead characters get labeled and put in it.

Ahhh... Friends, roleplayers, countrymen: lend me your EDCs. Is it that we all suffer from the same sickness? Or that it isn't really an illness at all?

There was a fairly amusing thread on the UK Roleplayers forum about fetishising stationery. I felt absolved. Mr Lang mentions Moleskin notebooks; I have a thing about them. I'm ashamed to admit that I was once discovered stroking one ruminatively during a game.

I empathise with the EDCers but I can't help noticing that a great many of the collections of everyday gadgets contain one or more items of roughly 6" in length that can be held in the palm of a hand. No cigars, though. Yet.

A friend makes lists of everything he carries in his EDCs - & keeps spares in his garage. I used to laugh at him but I'm going the same way now I'm wargaming again.
Suffers the burden of his genes.
