You could email the files to OUR GLORIOUS BENEFACTOR and ask him polity to post them under the authors name, he has given you permission to do so.

As to the idea of actively hunting and archiving files in danger of being lost, I think it's a cool idea!

When OUR GLORIOUS BENEFACTOR uploads games onto the main site, they're actually attached as a blog entry (the main site is wordpress, you see). He manually extracts information from the game, setting the name manually. If you were to submit it with a big hint on it then he'll follow whatever instructions you set.

As for rescuing games, I went through John Kim's excellent list just before Geocities died and download a few that are not found anywhere else. I didn't manage all the links, though but that would be a good place to start. Find a broken link then search for the game on archive.org. I am sure the authors wouldn't mind them being stored here. I know for sure it's one of OUR GLORIOUS BENEFACTORS top concerns that RPGs disappear off the site when really they could be stored.

Submit it and put a big fat proviso on the front.

Of course, in the archive (which will be done when it's done) it assumes that the author is different to the person doing the uploading.

Because it's under an open licence, I've uploaded the game to the . Folks might find it easier to download the game from there rather than navigate the archived version of the site.

That's not to say you shouldn't also upload the game to 1km1kt; after all this website sees a much greater readership than YOLF.

Its nice to see this has support. It might take me a little while to get ready to send it to 1km1kt.net - I want to look through and make notes on the difference between the dev/print versions and what is/isn't complete.

Thank you Sanglorian for transferring it to your wiki. I should have the file you're missing, but I'm having a bit of trouble with my e-mail accounts, and its a 23 Mb file that many clients don't like.

Speaking of your wiki - are you looking specifically for Open License games, or just free in general? A link to might be in order. I can't name any war games off the top of my head that are GNU/CC etc., though has a fair use policy in place. has released several of their rule sets (Full Thrust, Dirtside II, Stargrunt) for free and there are a couple of groups who have remixed the rules or added new elements.
