But if I'm spending 4cp for Orphaned and getting +5cp back, for simplicity why not have it just give me +1cp and leave the cost out of it? Adopted would then be a free milestone (-2+2=0) and Only Child would cost 1cp.
Or is there some element of this that eludes me?
